The ability to obtain information from persons encountered while performing a regulatory function is critical to the success of the role. This course provides an overview of the investigative interview process. Investigative Interviewing when performed correctly serves to provide a framework for successfully and ethically maximising the information flow from person being interviewed. The technique can be adjusted to different types of interviewee, including witnesses or those suspected of regulatory infringements. As can be seen from the course content the key aspects of; legislation, interpersonal skills, questioning techniques, detecting deceit and using evidence are covered.
